KRISHNA PRAPOORNA BILIGIRI, Ph.D. [USA]

Dr. Krishna Prapoorna is Professor & Head of the Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology Tirupati, India. He obtained both Doctoral and Master of Science degrees in Civil & Environmental Engineering from Arizona State University, United States of America. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Civil Engineering from Visveswaraiah Technological University, India. His research and teaching experience include: transportation pavement materials, design, maintenance, and rehabilitation; highway noise evaluation and modeling; sustainable & smart infrastructures. During the last nineteen plus years, he has been involved in several multi-million dollar national and international studies that focused on fundamental materials properties and sustainable innovative solutions/programs for adaptation and mitigation strategies to enhance quality-of-life initiatives. He is associated with various international societies such as the US-based National Academies of Engineering, American Society for Testing and Materials, and Recycled Asphalt Foundation, etc. He serves as: Associate Editor of the Elsevier’s Resources, Conservation and Recycling Journal; Associate Editor of the American Society of Civil Engineers’ Journal of Materials in Civil Engineering; Associate Editor of the Taylor & Francis’ International Journal of Road Materials and Pavement Design; Editorial Board Member of the American Society for Testing and Materials International’s Journal of Testing and Evaluation; Associate Editor of the Springer Nature’s Innovative Infrastructure Solutions. He is a Lifetime member and Executive Fellow of the International Road Federation. He is also a recipient of the Young Scientist award from the Board of the International Institute of Noise Control Engineering. In 2015, 2018, and 2022; he was awarded the Asphalt-Rubber Ambassadorship for the Republic of India instituted by the Rubber Pavements Association, Rubberized Asphalt Foundation, and Asphalt-Rubber international conference group. He serves as the Director of the Boards of Rubberized Asphalt Foundation and International Road Federation (Global) along with acting as an Independent Director of Tinna Rubber & Infrastructure Limited (India). He has authored / co-authored and contributed over two hundred twenty-five papers in scholastic journals and peer-reviewed international conferences, and over eighty reports, press articles, newsletters and guides till date. Further, he has also given over two hundred presentations in several countries, including: India, USA, Sweden, Germany, Portugal, Poland, Belgium, Hungary, China, Singapore, Malaysia, Taiwan, UAE, Australia, South Korea, Spain, and Oman. During the last several years, he has been advising / mentoring several scientists, undergraduate and graduate students, researchers, engineers, scientists, and practitioners.
